Open with Modifications for safety

The following is updated based on current situation and guidelines.  Check with Ama when scheduling.

With COVID-19 spreading widely, we can plan to talk by phone or video to do intake before our scheduled appointment  to minimize in-room talking time.  Some people prefer to do this immediately beforehand, from their car, after they have driven and parked for the appointment.  Others prefer an earlier separate time.  Please let me know your preference.

Regarding COVID-19 and illness:

Before your appointment, please check-in with yourself, looking for any of the symptoms below, or other unusual symptoms.  People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from no or mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:

Fever or chills (99.4 or greater, feel warm to touch, feeling feverish, or a temp 1+ degree higher than your regular.)

Cough

Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

Fatigue or Malaise

New muscle or body aches

Headache

New loss of taste or smell

Sore throat

Congestion or runny nose

Nausea or vomiting

Diarrhea

If you have any of the above symptoms, or feel “off” in any way, please cancel your session, without penalty, and reschedule for 2 weeks after you are symptom-free.

Please remember that any amount of exposure to anyone with COVID-19 (symptoms or not) requires you quarantine for 14 days, or 10 days with a negative nasopharyngeal swab test result, taken on at least the 7th day or more, after exposure.

We will discuss all possible exposures or symptoms before your in-person sessions.

Within the in the last 14 days, have you:

- traveled by plane or other public transport?

- traveled beyond your home region (beyond 3-hours driving)?

- been in the same room (shared airspace) with anyone outside of your home, family or pod?

- done any work, activities and/or errands that may have exposed you?

- do you have a child going to in-person school/camp or other activities?

- do you have a partner, spouse, roommate or house-mate going out to work or other activities where exposure may have been possible?

For your session:

Please wear at least a double layer mask to your appointment. If you need a new one, I have the triple-layer medical-style masks available. Also, please hydrate well before your appointment and after. I will have water for you if you need some.

After you enter the building, please go immediately to wash your hands, scrubbing with soap for at least 20 seconds, and rinsing with warm water.

I will have disinfected all of the touch surfaces in my office before your arrival. I keep an Air Doctor air filter running with an Ultra HEPA filter and a carbon filter. Also, the old windows don’t close 100%, so there’s a small draft, refreshing the air constantly.

I’ll open the door when I’m ready for you. Please sign in with your name, the date and time. Using a touch-less thermometer, I’ll take your temperature and mine, and we’ll both sanitize. Depending on Alameda County's Tier, I may wear glasses or a face shield as well, and only working with 1 to 3 clients per day.

Before beginning massage and bodywork, I will step out to wash my hands and arms while you undress to your comfort level and lay on the massage table.
